The Chicago Electric Boat Company offers a unique, memorable and environmentally friendly way to see the great city of Chicago. By renting boats that are comfortable and easy to drive, the Chicago Electric Boat Company gives even new boaters a chance to get behind the wheel and see the city from this exceptional point of view. Founded by Ron Silvia and the late Greg Krueger, the Chicago Electric Boat Company has grown to over a dozen vessels in only 7 years. Since opening our doors in April 2012, we have had the pleasure of introducing over 100,000 guests to the beauty of Chicago and the thrill of captaining a boat on the River. We are touched that passengers have chosen our boats as the preferred venue for celebrations, events, meetings, marriage proposals and even weddings.

If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%.
Renters who cancel at least 14 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%.
Note : For those who DO NOT PURCHASE OUR CANCELLATION PROTECTION, all cruises must then be canceled 72 hours (3 Days) prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund.
All cancellations must be submitted via email only - not phone calls or voice messages - to rentme@chicagoelectricboats.com.
For those who DID PURCHASE OUR CANCELLATION POLICY, all cruises must be cancelled at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund, minus the Protection fee.
Please note, even with the Cancellation CancellationProtection, captains and/or docents must be cancelled 24 hours in advance.

24 hours prior to your reservation, a $500 security hold will be placed to the credit card on file to ensure the boat is returned without damage. The hold will be released once the boat is brought back to our docks without any damage and you were not subject to additional fines. Depending on what credit card, please note that hold could potentially take up to 48 hours to be released.
We have updated our policy where your card will be charged in full as soon as your reservation is successfully booked.
