The Hungry Pelican opened in 2018 next to the Mel Rieman Campground on Lake Ashtabula. Owned and operated by the Peltier Family. Since this area of the lake has the dam, this Hungry Pelican is known as the Dam Hungry Pelican and is open in summers only. In 2022 the Hungry Pelican opened its second location next to the East and West Ashtabula Crossing campgrounds. This location is known as the Crossing Hungry Pelican and is open year round. Both locations have a bar with delicious Caribbean style drinks, a convenience store and fishing supplies. The Dam location has a very popular ice cream bar with 17 delicious flavors to choose from and the Crossing has a full restaurant menu, which is below.
