Mike and Debra Mercer moved from Houston, Texas in March 2001 and bought Ridge Top Resort & Chapel of the Angels. They had previously visited the area together, celebrating their first wedding anniversary and they fell in love with Eureka Springs and the surrounding area. Now we are Texans living in the Ozarks. Mike is an ordained minister and is the Pastor of Beaver Lake Baptist Church right down the road from Ridge Top. Debra is an accountant/bookkeeper and has retired from that field for the privilege that she and Mike have of managing this awesome log cabin resort here in the Ozarks. Since moving to the resort, we have done thousands of weddings and have met and made friends with people from all over the world who come to enjoy the peace and quiet at Ridge Top. We never meet a stranger and most of our guests have become lifelong friends. We still visit with them on Facebook and often exchange Christmas cards. It’s not just a business, it’s a ministry and Jesus is the center of everything we do. Our vision for our resort is for our guest to find that “Perfect Place” that place of refuge, a place to experience being refreshed and renewed, a place of peace and quiet, a place to hear the breeze blowing through the trees and breathe the fresh mountain air, a place to see a star filled sky in the evening. They need a place where they can actually feel God’s spirit speaking peace to their soul. Ridge Top is such a place. Our guest’s comments continue to center on this fact, that this beautiful resort is just what they were looking for, a “Little Piece of Heaven”. Our desire is to maintain that atmosphere at Ridge Top, now and in the future. The history of the resort and how it started is an amazing story, come visit and we will be glad to share it with you.
