Kayak Carolina was founded on November 20, 1998 the day Angela finished a 300 mile plus kayak expedition of the North Carolina and Outer Banks coast, starting at Virginia Beach, VA and finishing in Carolina Beach, NC. Our guides are trained interpretive naturalists and certified instructors by the American Canoe Association. All guides are first-aid certified in Wilderness First-Aid and CPR. We have over 30 years combined experience in teaching, kayaking and the paddle sports industry. We are skilled, knowledgeable, safety-oriented, courteous and fun. The beautiful waters, marsh and secluded sandy beaches of the Carolinas are our backdrop as we teach you the easy how to steps of kayaking. No experience is necessary, so start your kayaking adventure today.

Special Policy

Kayak Carolina offers several kayak tours around Wilmington and the Cape Fear region. We have three tours that depart from Fort Fisher and guide you around Zeke’s Island, one tour that departs from River Road Park and guides you around Shark’s Tooth/Kegs Island, and another tour that departs from Trail’s End Country Park and guides you around Masonboro Island.

Our kayak rentals range in price, depending on the style, size, and duration of the rental. Our prices are very competitive for the area, and each rental includes free delivery, seatbacks, paddles, life jackets, trail maps, and instructions if you’d like. Our fleet includes single & double kayaks in both sit-on-top and cockpit styles.

We offer both guided sunrise and sunset kayak tours! Our sunrise and sunset tours depart from Fort Fisher and take you all around the Zeke’s Island Nature Reserve as well as Zeke’s Island itself. While the main attraction of this tour is certainly the sunrise or sunset, there are also ample opportunities to see some wildlife including birds, turtles, dolphins and more.
