Kayak Instruction Inc. & Kayak Crossing Outpost

Mission Statement: Kayak Instruction, Inc. provides quality kayak instruction to as many segments of the population as possible, emphasizing safety, enjoyment and skill acquisition. The Company: Dave Holl began planning what has become this school, during the summer of 2000 while he was kayaking The Grand Canyon with fourteen other river enthusiasts. The idea was to bring the highest level of kayak instruction available in the country to Texas. The Fleet: The company has an extensive fleet of kayaks from Jackson Kayak. With such variety, students who participate in the classes provided by Kayak Instruction, Inc. have exposure to many different styles of kayaks. This provides an opportunity for the student to experience many types of crafts, help them determine the niche of the sport that most interests them, and subsequently facilitate the purchase of the boat that best fits their needs.

Captain's Cove Marina

Lake Ray Hubbard is a reservoir located near Dallas, Texas in the counties of Dallas, Kaufman, Collin, and Rockwall. It is built on the East Fork Trinity River and impounded by the Rockwall-Forney Dam. Lake Ray Hubbard measures 22,745 acres with a max depth of 40 feet. The lake offers multiple boat launches, Chandler’s Landing Marina, Captain’s Cove Marina, beaches, and outdoor recreation including camping, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife watching and more.

Our new ownership group are experienced boaters and sailors with a history on Lake Ray Hubbard and are celebrating their 2nd year of ownership with significant marina upgrades and the redevelopment of the entire peninsula under Sapphire Bay. Much of the redevelopment and upgrades to this modern facility replace parts of our former marina and storage areas and offer some brand new and exciting features to our existing members and new customers. We’ve added many amenities and features to what was already a great marina, making Sapphire Bay the place to be on Lake Ray Hubbard.
