Shearwater Adventures has been offering a variety of sea kayak tours, instruction, and retail sales on Orcas Island since 1982. Over the years, we have introduced thousands of people to the joys of paddling in the San Juan Islands. Our focus has always been sharing the fun of kayaking and the beauty of the marine environment. Shearwater uses the best kayaks and equipment available. We have a dedicated staff of qualified guides, and we know the islands better than anyone. Kayaking with Shearwater is a great activity to experience during your visit to the islands. Join us for a kayak tour and a fantastic time on the water! We understand that travel plans can change. We give full refunds for cancellations up to 48 hours before our 3-hour kayak tours (5 days in advance for bookings of 5+ people). Cancellations up to 5 days in advance of our Paddle & Picnic tours are likewise fully refunded. Late cancellations are refunded if we are able to resell the spaces.

Orcas Island Sailing

We began with a simple idea which continues to be our guide to business today: Provide a fun sailing opportunity for visitors vacationing in the San Juan Islands. Because we don't charge per person you will experience learning how to sail in the company of your traveling companions rather than with a group of strangers. This way you get a private charter for you and yours only! Every skippered charter is hands-on. You will be sailing the boat and learning the ropes!
