In June of 1965 an abandoned fish cannery on the South Portland shore of the Fore River was converted into a small marina. By the winter of 1974 the marina had only experienced limited growth, provided few services and had less than 20 usable boat slips. In April of 1974 the marina was sold to Robert C. Soucy, Sr. and under his management expanded to a full service marina. Sales of boats and motors were added. Slips increased to 30 and 30 moorings were added. In 1979 Port Harbor Marine was the successful bidder to develop a new marina with the City of South Portland. In 1980 Port Harbor Marine sold its old location and relocated to its present location on Spring Point Drive. Spring Point Marina consists of over 18,000 square feet of buildings on 6 acres of land and 250 boat slips on 6 acres of water, making us one of the largest marine dealer/marina facilities in the Northeast.

Striker Charters was founded by Kevin Lord and Ben Welch, two fishing buddies out of Kennebunkport, ME. Kevin and Ben started fishing together in 2005 for sharks and stripers, and a couple years later for Bluefin Tuna. With over 40 years combined fishing experience both inshore and offshore, as well as freshwater fishing for bass and trout, being on the water is second nature. Kevin and Ben are the winners of the 2007 Downeast Maine Shark Tournament. Both are licensed Master Captains through the United States Coast Guard. Ben is also a registered Maine Guide.
